In Which I Give It All Away

The time has finally come to talk about the Give Away I mentioned a few posts back. Before I skip ahead and blurt out what the prize is, I first must tell you all how this is going to work, as it's going to be a little bit different than the give-away's that Employee No 3699 and Heather did. More specifically, to be eligible to win, it is going to involve some work on your part.

Fall is my favorite season, and while I'm trying to make an effort to enjoy this time of year, I want you to be able to take some time from your busy lives and enjoy it, too. To encourage that, I thought a contest with an incentive would help.

Choose one of the following options:
  1. Take a picture that you feel best describes the fall season.
  2. Prove your worth by carving the best Jack O'Lantern.

Participants in Category One will need to submit, in addition to their photo, a short paragraph detailing why they chose the subject of the photo, and how they feel it best describes Fall. Participants in Category Two will need to submit, in addition to a picture of the final product, photo's of the "work in progress" (you don't need to show the faces of those involved, just prove that you actually did the work). One winner be selected from each category, and the entries will be judged on originality and skill. To help keep things fair and unbiased, I'll have The Boss pick the winners.

Submissions should be e-mailed to me (badassgeek[at]gmail[dot]com) no later than Wednesday, October 22nd. The winners will be announced by Friday, October 24th.

As Employee No 3699 so aptly guessed, each winner will receive a free custom blog design by Yours Truly. If the selected winner does not have a Blogger account (as I currently only work with Blogger designs), as an alternate prize the winner will receive a custom designed and hand-made Badass Geek t-shirt.

Sound enticing enough? Good luck!

Ohhhh! This sounds fun! Can I do both catagories. I want to up my chances of winning. I have a sneaking suspision that Lola is gonna top me on this. She wins everything :) LOL!

Wow, you are creative! that's alot of pressure given that yourself are a great photographer. Are you going to post the pics that are sent to you?!
Though with a wordpress account, I guess I'd be up for the Badass t-shirt. I'd totally wear it, though. I've got a bumper sticker on my car from Tattoeed Dad's website. I get lots of questions in regards to RP...who has no tattooes!
You could get some made up that say "I love my badass geek" and your 'logo' could be all over the place! Meaning the country and beyond!

I must get to work plotting now!

OH MAN!!! When is someone going to give me a digital camera?? My cell phone sucks at the picture taking. So I would lose just because you wouldn't be able to tell what was in the picture. Man. Cuz I totally know what I would take pictures of!! Can I draw something by hand instead? Kidding. My drawing sucks even more than my picture taking.

Hmm... At least I still have my fancy camera.

And... yeah, I asked for a MacBook for christmas. And I got.... this.....
Yeah. Rub it in.

This sounds like fun. I'm not really after winning a prize, but like the idea of taking part just for the challenge and fun of it.

Good one Badass!

Cape Cod Gal: To keep things fair, please submit to one category only, please. Maybe you can combine the two, though...

Moonspun: I do plan on posting the pics I get, with permission from everyone of course. Keep this on the DL.... but there might be something secret (!) going out with those who win T-Shirts.

Kat: Plot away!

Heather: A cellphone picture would be fine, I'm sure.

Rachel: The next best thing other than a MacBook would be a camera, I guess. What kind of camera do you have?

Scatterbrain: If you'd like to not be in the running for a prize, that's fine... You're still welcome to participate.

Dude! I am so in.

Damn, I'm used to blog contests that are like, "comment here, I use random number generator, you win."

Making me WORK for it and all, jeez louise.

I'm with Miss Grace, I'm used to the random generator thing...BUT, this is totally worth making me get off my arse. I want to win! I need to win!

Badass Geek said...

Sus: I knew you would be!

Miss Grace: You don't have to work hard, but that might lower your chances of winning. This makes it more fun, I think. At least for me.

Employee No 3699: I was going to do the random generator, but it wouldn't be fair with all the effort put into it by the participants to just choose one randomly. This way, the best one wins!

Well, I am one badass pumpkin carving ho, and I can take some fancy smancy photos. Trouble is, darling, that you already pimped my blog.

So, the question becomes how hard I want to work for a T-shirt. Hmmm. Oh, hell, I'm one competetive bitch, and I would wear the shirt as long as it's low cut and tight (hehehe), so I'm in. I think.

Badass Geek said...

Lola: I thought about that. I know a t-shirt isn't as nifty as a blog design, but it was all I could come up with that wouldn't break the bank (as I am a poor man).

Lola said...

Oh, honey, I'm happy with a T-shirt! Just make it a small with a V-neck if I win! You said custom, after all.
