In Which I Rock Out

I've got some questions for you, my readers. Feel free to answer the question that most applies to you, answer all of them, or answer none of them at all... Whichever you prefer.
  1. What was your favorite song 10 years ago?
  2. What is your favorite song now?
  3. What song (or songs) do you feel best represents who you are?
  4. What song have you heard recently that you had forgotten you really liked?
  5. If your life in 2008 could have a theme song, what would it be?

My reasoning for asking these questions will be revealed in a later post. Thank you for your input!

One song that is my favorite right now - Stepping Stone by Duffy.

Oooh, and Facebook told me my theme song is Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Hmmmm.

you are full of questions!
I just downloaded "In My Daugher's Eyes" by Martina McBride and forgot how much I liked it. A sappy song.
I love too many songs to have one favorite.
My theme song for the year would probably be the one that RP and I danced to at our wedding. "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascall Flatts.
Ten years ago? Hmmm....I was very into the soundtrack to Boys on the Side and Melissa Etheridge. Not sure which album.
Does that help?

Unanswered Prayers is always a good one - just about anything by Cher (I know, I know) - Picture by Kidd Rock and Sheryl Crow - the entire Phil Collins soundtrack to Tarzan (yep - the Disney movie) - I am finally out of the sesame street and barney phase with my kids - but I prefer talk radio - so my preferences are VERY outdated.
I like hip hop too - as long as it's not too, too vulgar and you can dance to it.

Lately I've been loving Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show, and I'm listening to it right now so I can't think of anything else.

10 years ago- I was on a Lynard Skynard kick so probably "Simple Man"

Fav Song Now- Metallica's Broken Beat and Scarred

Represent Me- Meridith Brooks "Bitch" (I mean really aren't all women?)

Heard Recently- Hall and Oats "Maneater"

2008 theme- Blue October "Calling You" (just because I have been away from my husband half the year and then left my family in the states recently..I know it is supposed to be a song about suicide prevention or whatnot, but it also applies to those who are living far from their loved ones)

Hope that helps.

These are too tough for someone who does not have "a favorite" in almost any category. I'm more of a top ten list person, but I'll try just for my bestest blog bud.

So, for one of my favorite songs from quite a few years ago (maybe not ten) I'll go with "3 Libras" by A Perfect Circle, because that's blasting out of my iPod right now, and it's killer.

My favorite song right now is "Disturbia" by Rihanna, because it's dark, sexy and makes me dance every time I hears it.

Song that represents who I am, "I Don't Need A Hero" by Concrete Blonde. Aside from the obvious beauty of the song, the timpani drums in this song give me goosebumps!

Song I had forgotten, "Cuts You Up" by Peter Murphy. When I heard it on Sirius,I couldn't download it fast enough.

Song for 2008, I'll go with "Riot" by Three Days Grace, because of all the scumbags that have been exposed in our government and our financial institutions, and I would love to start a RIOT!

Holy shit, man, that was like birthin' a baby. Only for you!

I spent most of the nineties listening to childrens music – “The Wheels on the Bus” etc.

I’ll never quite get theme tunes from ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ or ‘Postman Pat’ out of my head.

This is too much to ask of my brain..which is currently out of gear.

Splodge: I'll look forward to your thoughts!

Ginger Magnolia: In my experience, trusting Facebook can be dangerous.

Cape Cod Gal: Need some coffee?

Moonspun: I am ever inquisitive!

A Reason 2 Write: Even though he's gone the way of Disney, Phil Collins is still the man.

Miss Grace: Interesting band name...

Kat: A little Skynard never hurt anyone.

Lola: A Perfect Circle is awesome, and I appreciate your effort for this list. It won't go unappreciated!

1. Oh gosh, I had so many faves back then, I listened to music a lot more than I do now. I'll go with "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day, although I was really into Everclear back then "AM Radio".

2. You didn't say if this needed to be a current song or from any year, but I really like "Ain't No Reason" by Brett Dennen and "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay.

3. "Ana Ng" by TMBG and "How Soon is Now" by the Smiths.

4. I saw some old clips of Billy Joel from the 70's and I always forget how much I love his music. "You may Be Right".

5. It's been a bad year, I've been pissed of A LOT. Crunchy music makes me feel better, how about "BYOB" - System of a Down.

OK - I've given it some thought and at first it was a head-scratcher, but I've been reliving some good times compiling this.

1. 'For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) by AC/DC.

2. 'You Know I'm No Good' by Amy Winehouse.

3. 'Fat Bottomed Girls' by Queen ... and my husband would agree with that but he likes it!

4. 'Southern Man' Neil Young.

5. The 'Looney Tunes' theme or 'That's Life' by ol' blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

Always with the tricky shit, eh?

Okay, I'll try this out. Like Lola, I have very few "favorites," because I like most everything.

1. What was your favorite song 10 years ago?

Okay, so I was 18. Which meant it was something utterly ridiculous. I'll go with "Torn" by that Aussie chick.

2. What is your favorite song now?

I have many. Probably "Circus" by my favorite girlfriend.

3. What song (or songs) do you feel best represents who you are?

It's a Prince song, called "P Control."

4. What song have you heard recently that you had forgotten you really liked?

Rhianna's "Umbrella." Also, Faith No More's "Just A Man."

5. If your life in 2008 could have a theme song, what would it be?

All I can think of is "Livin' On A Prayer" because that's what Dave and Ben are playing on Guitar Hero.
