In Which I Am Free

Today is July 4th. There is no need to reinforce that fact, but even if you had forgotten what day it is, the crowds of people milling about and the sudden increase in traffic on the roads probably prompted you to check your calendar. It also could have been the influx of all things red, white, and blue that tipped you off, but I digress.

We all know what today is about, so I'm not going to wax patriotic or anything. I don't have any big plans to tell you about, and I've already used up my one good Fourth Of July story in last years post. I wasn't able to get the day off from work, but at least I'm back in my home office again. It will be much easier to power through a 12-hour shift in the comfort of my own home. And for those who are curious, yes. I am wearing pants today.

I guess that, other than publicly admitting that I'm wearing pants, I don't have much else to say. I suppose I felt like I had been neglecting my blog, and wanted to write something new. Maybe I just like the sound of my own voice. At any rate, I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend.

Don't blow your hands off with firecrackers or anything.

I think I'm going to brave going to the movie theater today. Pretty ballsy I admit. Other than Christmas day, I think it may be the busiest movie day of the year. But I've been wanting to see Star Trek and putting it off, and I want to see it before it hits the gross dollar theaters. Wish you could join me! Happy 4th!

I like Aunt Juicebox's idea.

I don't know what I'm doing yet (even though it's already after 3) but I know it will involve air conditioning :)

The neglecting the blog thing seems to be going around....it's summer, we're allowed right?

Happy 4th! We celebrated our politeness and moose the other day, so today I get to drink to your independence and ..um... well I'm drinking to you lot :)

I plan on going to see fireworks. If they let me get my hands on any to light myself, I'll do my best not to set anything on fire. :)

I went and saw some fireworks last night, then to a dance club that wasn't really "happenin'." When I left when my friends, we were going to light sparklers, but I fell asleep in the car and then went to bed as soon as I came inside. They took some pictures with sparklers, though... it was a fun night. Oh yeah, and a five year old blew on my boobs... that's another story. Hope you had a good day yesterday!

I had to give the dogs baths, one of them two baths, but after that had a great time on the lake! Paddle boats are the bees knees!!!!

Now that I live in a state where fireworks are legal, we were crushed not to be able to find sparklers for the girls!

Thank you again for guest blogging - and for helping out my dad and I. At least you know that when I am alone in a trailer in Utah discussing blogging on the cell phone with my dad (and need help) I think of you.

I guess I can admit to having neglected the blog (not even reading my own for 24 days!!).

I hope your 4th of July was nice. We drove 16 hours, so you probably got more exercise than I did, even with a 12 hour shift!

And, for the record, I am NOT wearing pants (Fortunately for everyone, I AM wearing a dress).

Can't wait to catch up on so many posts!!!!

Aunt Juicebox: Yeah, I can only imagine how busy they were.

Aunt Becky: Don't you not like going to the movies?

FTLOP: Air conditioning is a godsend.

Mad Woman: Drinking to anything sounds nice.

Inna: Hope everything turned out okay. =)

Love Lila: Nothing like a 5-year-old blowing on ones boobs to really round out the evening.

Lola: Paddle boats ARE fun!

Moonspun: We can get sparklers, but you have to have a license to set off fireworks in Maine. Legally, at least.

MIT Mommy: Glad I could help, and glad you made it back in one piece.

Hope you had a great 4th of July...even if you had your pants on the whole time.

Blog neglect is running rampant...don't feel bad!

As desert dwellers, we watch our fireworks on tv lest we go up flames!

I'm sorry you wore your pants. What's the fun of working from home if you can't run around naked, or at least just wearing PJs/underwear?
