I know I'm getting to the posting comments of this way late, but I'm slowly working my way through the archives of your blog.

Personally, I don't watch TV. Not at all. It sounds funny, but I have simply viewed it as a gigantic waste of time since high school. Of course, this means that I now spend my time not watching TV doing other, equally pointless wasting of time, such as watching movies and playing video games. Perhaps I should take up a hobby, like making money?

there are a few other sites that have slipped my mind at the moment, and i'm on my work computer so i can't get to them.

there used to be this amazing one called tvlinks.uk, but it got shut down.

it technically didn't do anything illegal, it linked streamed tv and movies from other countries (uk, japan, china, etc), but good old usa came to save the world from free media. again.

I have to struggle with myself not to watch TV. We have cable and I love watching food network and news. I hate the commercials though, especially on food network.
When I can overcome the temptation of watching TV, I really enjoy reading, talking to my husband, sometimes cooking, and of course sleeping.

AC: I really should start reading more. I've had "The Stand" by Stephen King for a few months now, and I'm only about 150 pages into it. I love it, but I don't have much time to read.

AM TV does suck. I'm usually out the door fairly quick in the morning so it doesn't effect me, unless I'm sick in bed.

Yes, you can still buy VHS tapes to record on. If you don't have a VCR you can pick one pretty cheap. Tape shows at night to watch in the morning. After you watch them, tape over them with new shows.

Personally, I bit the bullet and got that ComCast package for $99.00. It includes cable, internet and phone. The price went up after the first year, but we called and said we were going to switch, so now we have HBO, Starz and Encore free for a year. Works for me.

Suggestion for morning television? Buy all three ...

Suggestion for morning television? Buy all three seasons of Arrested Development and watch them, instead. They never get old. They're always funny.

Or you could read...maybe go outside and find a nice spot and have some coffee and read. Do you have a porch? If I had time in the morning, I'd read on my porch. (actually, I'd probably just sleep in more).

I really don't watch TV. No, really, I don't. In fact, my TV in the family room has been broken for awhile. It was sort of embarrassing when I had a babysitter and I forgot to mention it. She did say, though, that she hadn't read National Geographic in a long time and now she was all caught up!! (We have enough books and mags in this house to be under house arrest for at least 30 years). Anyway, isn't blogging "the new tv"?

Most of the stuff I watch on a regular basis is on regular tv, but we watch enough cable to make it worthwhile. My nieces love all the kids channels and my husband is a diehard SciFi fan. The Food Network happens to be one of my faves. However, if the cable network came crashing to the ground and we didn't have it anymore, we'd have to make do with dvd's because we can't get very good regular tv reception here.
If you don't want to get cable, then try taping some of the stuff you like at night, and save it to watch in the mornings.

We ended up with directv (satellite) and love it.....

We ended up with directv (satellite) and love it... I was disgusted with Cable, and it has been a good option to go with DirecTV for us...

We did rabbit ears for a while, but since K became disabled, we decided we were spending alot more time at home and it was well worth the price to upgrade to DirecTV..

Where we are Comcast is "craptastic" - expensive as crap, local stations are fuzzy as crap, and their service department sucks like crap... so I was really determined not to give them any more of my hard earned money...

Hope you find a good solution... some shows have internet episodes for free, others are available for a little... but I wanted a bit more...

My husband and I have been without any channels on our TV for the last four years. So the only chance we have to watch TV is at our parent's homes. I thought I would hate it but, when I watch TV now, I realize just how little I am missing. I usually just end up flipping channels for an hour, realize that all TV sucks, and then turn it off. And the shows I do want to see, like The Office, The Sopranos or Weeds, we just watch when they come out on DVD.

I will say that I do greatly miss Mythbuster and Dirty Job. But it seems I am managing just fine without them.

Man, you've got to get cable! I know it's too expensive, but if you could steal cable from a neighbor or maybe make a splice buddy.

I couldn't live without Showtime. Dexter, The Tudors, Diary of a Call Girl, Weeds, Californication, I'm getting excited just writing about it! I saw an ad last night saying that the new season of Dexter starts Sept 28, and I squealed with delight.

And yes, morning shows must die! Try watching Kathie Lee and that Hota, Hoda, whatever woman. It makes me want to kill myself!
